A heated confrontation unfolded between BJP Corporator Abhijit Javalakar and Ramesh Patil regarding the installation of a mobile tower in Bhagya Nagar. Responding to concerns raised by local MLAs, BJP members rallied together and staged a robust protest in front of Tilakavadi police station, resulting in the apprehension of Ramesh Patil.
Adding to the tension, Shri Ram Sena Hindustan workers organized a demonstration at Tilakwadi Police Station, urging the arrest of Javalkar. Subsequently, Tilakwadi police took action and detained Javalakar during the late hours of Sunday.
This incident has evolved into a significant political clash, marking the first instance of an elected member of the Belgaum City Corporation being arrested since the BJP assumed power.
Following the arrest of BJP Corporator Javalkar, BJP leaders are currently engaged in protests at the police commissioner’s office.
