Belagavi South Constituency’s MLA, Abhay Patil, has secured the Central government’s green light for an exciting cable car venture in Belagavi. This visionary project aims to not only enhance the city’s aesthetics but also beckon tourists from neighboring states like Maharashtra and Goa.
During a recent meeting held in New Delhi on Monday, September 18th, with India’s Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, Mr. Patil submitted a formal request for a budget allocation of Rs 60 crore to initiate the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cable Car project. This ambitious undertaking seeks to establish a cable car link connecting Yallur village within the Belagavi South constituency to Rajahansagad.
Minister Gadkari promptly responded by instructing his officials to conduct a thorough investigation and furnish a detailed report. Patil has indicated that the anticipated report is slated for delivery by December. Following its submission, the essential funding will be disbursed, and groundwork for the cable car project is scheduled to commence in January.
Upon completion, this initiative promises to metamorphose Yallur into a sought-after tourist haven, becoming a prime attraction for visitors hailing from Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Goa. Abhay Patil is optimistic that this endeavor will impart a substantial impetus to Belagavi’s economic growth.
