The gruesome murder of a young man who was savagely bludgeoned to death with a large stone has sent shockwaves through the city. This horrifying incident unfolded late at night on Wednesday in the Shivbasav Nagar area, and chillingly, it was captured on a nearby CCTV camera.
The victim, identified as 26-year-old Nagaraj Gadiwaddar, hailed from the Ramnagar locality. According to the CCTV footage, Nagaraj was walking along the road when he was stalked by three individuals on a motorbike. One of these assailants callously struck the back of his head with a hefty boulder, causing him to collapse. Subsequently, the accused man continued his relentless assault by repeatedly pounding Nagaraj’s head and face with the same stone.
After committing this heinous act, the culprits swiftly fled the scene, leaving behind a lifeless victim. In response to this horrifying tragedy, the family members of the deceased gathered in front of the BIMS hospital mortuary on Thursday to protest. They demanded that the postmortem of Nagaraj’s body should not proceed until the perpetrators were apprehended. Eventually, law enforcement officials managed to persuade them to allow the postmortem to take place.
The city police have taken this case with utmost seriousness and have initiated a thorough investigation, relying on the valuable CCTV footage and other pieces of circumstantial evidence. As of now, the motive behind this brutal incident remains unknown. The case has been officially registered at the Malmaruti police station.
