Vithal Wodeyar, a young resident of Pamaladinni village, fearlessly rescued Khaleel Rajannavar from Banahatti town in Bagalkot district on a fateful Thursday. Their lives intersected in a moment of crisis, with one young soul selflessly coming to the aid of another in dire need.
While cycling along the riverbank, Vithal witnessed a car being swept away by the Ghataprabha river. He noticed that one person managed to escape from the car, but another individual was trapped inside and appeared unable to swim. Without a moment’s hesitation, Vithal leaped into action and bravely plunged into the river. He swam to the stranded car, rescued the passenger, and safely brought him to the riverbank. Fortunately, the other passenger, Mallik Mulla, had already managed to swim to safety. Vithal’s swift and courageous response averted a potential tragedy, highlighting the impact one person’s heroism can have in critical moments.
Heading to Gokak for a business trip, the Rajannavar brothers, traders from Banahatti, found themselves caught in the powerful current of the Ghataprabha near the Duradundi-Ramapur bypass.
