Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi has directed officials to ensure effective implementation of the Anna Bhagya and Gruha Lakshmi schemes in Belagavi district.
During the quarterly Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) meeting held at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS), Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi emphasized the need for proper implementation of the Anna Bhagya and Gruha Lakshmi schemes in Belagavi district. Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar also informed that the government has allocated Rs 17 crore for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, with the registration process for beneficiaries already underway. She urged officials to keep local MLAs informed about the number of beneficiaries enrolled under the scheme.
Despite continuous rainfall in the district over the past few days, certain taluks are still experiencing drought-like conditions, as stated by Satish Jarkiholi, the Public Works Minister. To address this situation, he directed officials to establish care centers for the people and gaushalas for livestock based on their specific needs. Additionally, Jarkiholi urged officials to ensure that grape growers in the Athani area receive accurate information about the government’s insurance scheme.
During the meeting, Satish Jarkiholi discussed the upcoming construction of a new Deputy Commissioner’s office complex building. He revealed that the office will be built on a 2-acre plot out of a total of 9 acres of land. The remaining space will be utilized for parking, garden areas, and the development of other necessary infrastructure. Jarkiholi sought the opinion of the officials on this project during the discussion.
During the meeting, Laxmi Hebbalkar, the Women and Child Welfare Minister, announced that the government has taken the decision to provide tricycles to all physically challenged individuals in the state. She instructed the officials to promptly gather information about the beneficiaries. Additionally, Hebbalkar urged Hescom officials to take necessary measures to provide compensation to those who were electrocuted within its jurisdiction.
The gathering included MLAs Raju Kage, Mahantesh Koujalagi, Duryodhan Aihole, Babasaheb Patil, Vitthal Halagekar, Mahendra Tammannavar, Vishwas Vaidya, and Nikhil Katti, along with MLCs Channaraj Hattiholi, Sabanna Talawar, and Hanumant Nirani. Also present were DC Nitesh Patil, ZP CEO Harshal Bhoyar, and SP Sanjeev Patil.
