Amidst much anticipation, a bustling crowd of tourists found themselves in a momentary halt at Dudhsagar railway station this morning, eager to embark on their journey to the famed Dudhsagar waterfalls. However, an unexpected turn of events unfolded as the authorities temporarily suspended access to the majestic falls. This precautionary measure was prompted by the relentless downpour and its impact on train operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of visitors.
In response to the situation, the South Western Railway (SWR) took to social media platform Twitter to address the matter promptly. They earnestly appealed to the eager tourists, urging them to cherish the awe-inspiring beauty of the Dudhsagar waterfalls from the comfort and safety of their train coaches. The SWR emphasized the potential risks associated with walking on or alongside the tracks, not only jeopardizing personal safety but also violating Sections 147 and 159 of the Railway Act. Additionally, such actions could pose a threat to the safety of the trains themselves. As a preventive measure, the SWR strictly prohibited passengers from disembarking at Dudhsagar or any other station along the Braganza Ghat. They kindly requested the cooperation of all travelers in complying with these regulations, emphasizing that these measures were implemented solely for the purpose of ensuring their well-being and security.
With the utmost priority placed on the safety of trekkers, the railway authorities made a decisive move to restrict access to the falls. To enforce compliance, dedicated personnel from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) were deployed to ensure penalties were imposed on individuals attempting to trespass. The ban on trekking towards the falls was implemented in response to the perilous conditions arising from the heavy rainfall.
In light of these circumstances, it is of utmost importance for everyone to demonstrate cooperation and adhere to the established regulations. These measures have been meticulously devised to safeguard the well-being and security of all individuals involved.
