Four assailants wearing veils attacked a young man named Kaif Sher Khan with axes and machetes at the Golf Side Cafe on Racecourse Road in Belagavi. The attackers also damaged the cafe’s furniture before fleeing the scene, and the entire incident was captured on the establishment’s CCTV cameras. Police suspect that a long-standing grudge may have been the motive behind the assault.
Relatives of the injured youth protested in front of the APMS Police Station, demanding the immediate arrest of the perpetrators. Deputy Commissioner of Police Narayan Barmani visited the location and assured the protesters that the accused would be arrested and that measures would be taken to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
