For six-year-old Zidaan Jamadar, football is not just a pastime—it’s a dream in progress. At an age when many children are still exploring their interests, Zidaan is already making waves on the football field, gaining recognition for his skill, dedication, and passion. With an impressive tally of 148 goals across various tournaments, this young footballer from Belagavi is certainly a talent to watch in the future of Indian football.
Zidaan’s football journey is deeply connected to his father, Mohammed Siraj Jamadar’s own love for the sport. Siraj, a businessman, grew up playing football locally but couldn’t pursue it professionally due to limited infrastructure and awareness about the game in India during the 1990s. Watching international football was challenging, with only limited broadcasts on Doordarshan. It wasn’t until the arrival of cable television and the launch of the Indian Super League (ISL) in 2013 that Siraj’s passion was reignited. The arrival of global football leagues and the presence of international players inspired him to dream of a son who could follow the path he had to leave behind—and in 2018, Zidaan was born.
Zidaan’s football journey began in 2022 when he was just three years old. Enrolled at BFC Soccer Schools in Belagavi, he quickly made a name for himself with his enthusiasm and quick grasp of the game’s basics. His first coach, Abhishek Vincent Harry, fondly recalls his early days. “I remember when he first joined us at just 3.5 years old. Though new to football, his determination and love for the sport were clear from the start. Watching him perform at the Casa Grand BFC Soccer Shield was inspiring. I look forward to seeing him wear the blue jersey for the Indian national team one day,” Harry said.
As Zidaan grew, he moved to the Belagavi United Football Academy (BUFA), where he began playing in the Under-7 KSFA Youth League. His coach at BUFA, Nikhil Bhajantri, was immediately struck by his natural talent. “From day one, it was clear he was a prodigy. At just five, he showed a deep understanding of the game, an ability to learn quickly, and impressive dribbling skills. In his first match in the KSFA Youth League against Raman Sports Academy, he scored a hat trick, helping secure the win. He’s truly a gifted player,” Bhajantri said.
Since starting his football journey, Zidaan has continued to impress in tournaments across India, competing in under-6, under-7, and under-8 categories organized by KSFA, FC Goa, and Bengaluru FC. His goal-scoring record is remarkable: 50 goals for Little Gaur in Goa, 8 goals in the Win More Trophy in Bangalore, 3 goals for AFC Belgaum, 4 goals in the Super Cup FC Goa, 9 goals in the GFL Mini League Belagavi, 20 goals in GFL Belagavi, 20 goals in KSFA Bangalore 2023, 42 goals in KSFA Bangalore 2024, and 4 goals in the Casa Grand Soccer Shield 2025.
His achievements have garnered praise from football experts, including AIFF-certified coach Vishal Kamu from the Manas Sports Development Foundation (MSDF) Academy. “From the very first day, Zidaan impressed me. His hunger to learn, his passion for football, and his ability to face challenges make him stand out. His focus and discipline will take him far in his football journey,” Kamu said.
Zidaan’s dedication has earned him several accolades, including the Most Valuable Player award at FC Goa Little Gaur, GFL Belagavi, and KSFA 2024. He was also named Best Player of the Tournament at the BFC Soccer Shield 2025. Currently, he holds the record for being the highest goal scorer for the Blue Cubs of the All India Football Federation in the Under-6 category and the top scorer in the Karnataka State Football Association.
Even at this young age, Zidaan maintains a disciplined lifestyle to support his passion. His father proudly shared, “Zidaan always brings home-cooked food prepared by his mother to practice. Unlike many kids, he avoids junk food. His focus and discipline are extraordinary for his age, and as a family, we will always support him, no matter what.”
Now competing in the Little Gaur 2024-25 matches in Goa, Zidaan continues to hone his skills and set new records. With his talent, hard work, and the unwavering support of his family, Zidaan is on a promising path to make a significant impact on Indian football.
