A young man’s body was discovered today in a field near the boundary wall of Belagavi Airport, close to Honnihala and Mavinakatti villages under the Marihal police station limits.
The identity of the deceased remains unknown. Initial findings indicate that the victim may have been killed by a blow to the head with a stone. Local farmers came across the body and promptly informed the police.
Marihal police officers responded quickly to the scene, with Commissioner of Police Yada Martin Marbanyang also visiting to supervise the investigation. The area has been cordoned off, and traffic along the Honnihala-Mavinakatti road has been temporarily restricted.
A two-wheeler key was found in the victim’s pocket, and police are working to determine if a vehicle connected to the case is nearby. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the details surrounding the incident.
