A brutal murder case has come to light after the body of a man was discovered on July 7 near Khanapete in Ramadurga taluk, prompting a detailed investigation by the police.
The victim was identified as Eerappa Adin, a resident of Amminabavi village in Dharwad. He was brutally murdered, a towel was tied around his neck, his private parts were assaulted, and he was struck on the head with a heavy weapon. The Ramadurga police, who registered a case and launched a thorough probe, have now unraveled the mystery behind the crime.
Eerappa had been married to Kamalava for 11 years. While their marriage was initially stable, cracks began to appear over time. As Kamalava worked at a hotel in Dharwad, Eerappa allegedly misused her earnings for alcohol and routinely harassed her under the influence.
Two years ago, Kamalava met Saabappa. What began as a casual acquaintance soon turned into an extramarital relationship. Eventually, Kamalava decided to eliminate Eerappa, who she saw as a hurdle. She reportedly pressured Saabappa repeatedly to carry out the murder, even calling him 30 times in a single day, threatening to consume poison if he didn’t act.
Succumbing to the pressure, Saabappa, along with his friend Fakirappa, conspired with Kamalava. The trio reached Amminabavi, drugged Eerappa while he was drinking at a bar, took him to a secluded area in Khanapete by bike, and murdered him brutally.
Shockingly, after committing the crime, the group went to Munavalli and celebrated with a party. Based on technical evidence and investigation, Ramadurga police identified and arrested all three, confirming Kamalava’s direct involvement in her husband’s murder. All accused have been remanded to judicial custody as further investigation continues.
