Police arrested a woman and her lover on Wednesday for reportedly murdering her husband in Benaulim village near Margao town in South Goa a day earlier. An officer identified the accused woman as Mangala Sidnal and her male friend as Suraj Mayagiri, who resides in Kadoli near Belgaum.
‘The father of the victim had lodged a complaint with Colva police on March 26 stating that his son was found dead in a pool of blood at their residence and his daughter-in-law Mangala along with her five-year-old daughter was missing,’ stated said Superintendent of Police (South) Sunita Sawant.
Mangala Sidnal traveled to Belgaum after the incident, but she returned to Goa on Wednesday, where she was interrogated and subsequently arrested. Sawant stated that Sidnal’s boyfriend was apprehended in Belgaum on Wednesday and transported to Goa.
