A tragic incident occurred in Sulebavi village on Thursday, where a weaver took his own life due to overwhelming debt.
Kiran Balanna Gokavi (32), a young weaver from Sulebavi, committed suicide after struggling with loans taken from various sources in the village, including a society loan. His family has reported that constant harassment from creditors drove him to take this drastic step.
According to police, Gokavi ended his life in the power loom room when no one was home. The Marihal police station has registered a case.Notably, another weaver from the same village, Sec. Parusharam Kallappa Vagookara (47), had also committed suicide earlier this month, on the 4th, for similar reasons related to debt.
