The first state-owned incubation center is likely to be established at Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) in Belgaum through the Visvesvaraya Research & Innovation Foundation (VRIF). This center seeks to address industry challenges by utilizing the talents and knowledge of its students and faculty.
A dedicated building at the university has been allocated for industries and startups to lease space and establish their own incubation centers. This initiative is said to be advantageous for more than 215,000 students.
The program is poised to be advantageous for both VTU faculty members and industries. Students will be able to acquire crucial industrial skills by actively participating in real-time projects, receiving guidance, financial assistance, and gaining access to cutting-edge technology and equipment.
