Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar revealed on Monday that the Vande Bharat train, currently operating between Bengaluru and Dharwad, will soon be extended to Belagavi.
Shettar shared that he had discussed the long-standing request with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Union Minister of State V Somanna, urging them to extend the Vande Bharat service to Belagavi.
“I submitted the request to the relevant authorities, and recently, a meeting was held in Hubballi with the General Manager of South Western Railway and senior officials to evaluate the extension’s feasibility,” Shettar said.
In a major breakthrough, MP Shettar met with Union Ministers Ashwini Vaishnaw and Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi on Monday to further discuss the proposal.
“Thanks to our persistent efforts, the Union Minister has given this matter due attention and provided a positive response. The extension of the Vande Bharat train from Bengaluru-Dharwad to Belagavi will happen soon,” Shettar stated.
The timings for the Vande Bharat service will be finalized shortly, with an official announcement expected soon.
Shettar thanked Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for responding to the demand and agreeing to extend the Vande Bharat train to Belagavi.
