An argument that began due to urination escalated into a murder when an intoxicated person threw a stone at Mahantesh Kurani (48), resulting in his death.
The homicide occurred on June 16 in Yaksamba town, located in Chikkodi taluk of Belgaum district. Vinayak, the suspect, has been arrested by Sadalga police.
An orchestra was organized during the fair of Lakshmi and Biradeva in Yaksamba. Mahantesh Kurani attended the night orchestra, where Vinayak also arrived to watch. A dispute arose between them when they went to relieve themselves.
Vinayak admonished Mahantesh for urinating next to him, but Mahantesh proceeded to urinate there anyway. This led to an argument, during which Vinayak, in a fit of anger, threw a stone at Mahantesh, resulting in his death. After the incident, Vinayak fled the scene but has since been apprehended by the police. The Sadalga police station has registered a case in this regard.
