A truck driver was assaulted by a group of right-wing activists in Belgaum on Sunday night. The attackers allegedly targeted the driver, accusing him of transporting cattle for slaughter to Kerala.
Videos from the scene have emerged depicting a gathering of over 20 individuals surrounding the truck and confronting the driver. The crowd repeatedly chanted ‘Jai Shree Ram’ slogans.
Police intervention halted further harm to the driver, who was promptly taken to the government hospital for medical treatment. The incident prompted former Chief Minister and NDA Lok Sabha candidate Jagadish Shettar to visit the site. Shettar called on law enforcement to take strict action against the transport company involved.
