In Malabada village of Athani Taluk, Belgaum district, a tragic event unfolded as a girl slipped and fell into a water pit while fetching water for the goats on the farm.
Anvita Satyappa Khot from Malaba village slipped into a pit while tending to goats. Her brother, Annappa Vitthal Khot, attempted to rescue her but tragically drowned in the water as well. Prompt action by local residents ensured both were swiftly retrieved from the water, but unfortunately, Anvita lost her life in the incident.
Annappa was promptly taken to Athani hospital, where he received treatment and recovered. A case has been filed regarding this incident at Athani Police Station.
