In a tragic incident on Monday, a violent altercation occurred between two cousins over a dispute regarding agricultural land in Khotwadi village (Taluka Athani), located on the Karnataka-Maharashtra border. As a result, both individuals were seriously injured with sharp weapons. They were subsequently admitted to the government hospital in Kavathe Mahankal for medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save them, both victims, identified as Khandu Tanaji Khot (25 years old) and Hanumant Ramchandra Khot (37 years old), passed away on Tuesday. The conflict had been ongoing between Khandu and Hanumant regarding the agricultural land for several days prior to this tragic incident.
During that time, their condition was worrisome. As treatment began, both of them tragically passed away on Tuesday morning. The Khot family owns 40 acres of farmland, which had been subject to ongoing disputes over ownership, unrelated to their names. This information was provided by the police. Recognizing the severity of the situation, District Police Chief Bhimashankar Guled, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shripad Jalde, CPI Ravindra Nayakwadi, and PSI Shivanand Karjol visited both the government hospital and the incident site in Kavathe Mahankal. This incident has caused unrest in the locality.
