A tragic incident occurred in Idalhond on Wednesday evening when a girl lost her life and a boy sustained injuries due to an electric shock in Khanapur. The deceased has been identified as Manvi Maruti Chopde (10), while Chaitanya Baswant Patil (8), a resident of Devganhatti, was injured.
The children were playing on a clay mound meant for brick-making at the site of Maruti Chopde’s brick business. Electricity had been drawn from the house through a conduit. Manvi accidentally touched an overhead power line during play and suffered a severe electric shock.
She collapsed on the spot and fell unconscious. Manvi was rushed to the Khanapur Government Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Chaitanya Patil, who sustained minor injuries, is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
