Four individuals drowned in the Dudganga river while washing clothes near the Bastawade bridge in Kagala taluk of Kolhapur district.
Two of the victims hailed from Athani in Belgaum district. Reshma Dileep Yalmale, aged 34, and Yash Dileep Yalmale, aged 17, had visited their relatives’ home for a fair in Anura village of Kagala taluk. The other two victims were from Kolhapur district: Jitendra Lokare, aged 36, from Muraguda, and Savita Amara Kamble, aged 27, from Rukadi village.
Amidst heavy rainfall, four individuals tragically lost their lives after accidentally falling into the overflowing Dudhganga river while washing their clothes. Villagers recovered the bodies of three victims, including two women, from the river, while firefighters continue to search for the remaining individual. Kagala Police Station has initiated a case in this regard.
