Market police on Sunday apprehended three individuals for selling drugs in a public area near the Seventh Cross in Samarth Nagar, Belgaum. The accused have been identified as Aniket Rama Lohar (27) of Samarth Nagar, Altamash Ayub Khan Pathana (25) of Machha in the taluk, and Saddam Hussain Sardar Pathana (24). Officials seized 60.36 grams of heroin valued at ₹48,400 and an autorickshaw worth ₹1 lakh.
Two More Arrested for Ganja Possession
Malamaruti police arrested Ravi Londe (50) of Gangawadi on Sunday for selling ganja in Shivabasava Nagar, Belgaum. A total of 255 grams of ganja worth ₹5,100 and ₹800 in cash were recovered. In a separate incident, Market police detained Prasad Chittibabu Parashabhog (23) of Vijayanagar, Hindalgad, for ganja consumption near Belgaum Central Bus Stand on Sunday.
Illegal Liquor Sale Busted
APMC police arrested Ashok Rama Patil (45) of Kangrali on Sunday for unlawfully selling liquor near the Belagavi APMC gate. Authorities seized 7.11 litres of liquor, ₹410 in cash, and other items amounting to ₹4,280.
Man Caught with Knife
Market police arrested Prajwala Shankar Kittawadakar (28) of Sambhaji Galli, who was found loitering suspiciously under the railway flyover on Old P.B. Road, Belgaum, on Sunday. A sharp steel knife was recovered from him.
