Three individuals were arrested for assaulting a bus driver and conductor in Belagavi, Karnataka. The incident occurred on Friday at Balekundri village when conductor Mahadev Hukkeri and driver Khatal Momin were attacked by a mob.
The altercation started when the conductor was unable to speak Marathi with a boy and girl who boarded the semi-urban CBT-Sulebhavi bus. The two passengers then called others who later assaulted the bus staff.
Marihal police arrested three suspects, Maruti Turmuri, Balu Gojgekar, and Rahul Naidu, all from Balekundri village. A manhunt is underway for the remaining individuals involved.
After medical tests at Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences District Hospital, the accused were presented in court and remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.
