The Bharatesh Institute of Technology (BIT), in collaboration with the Belagavi Startup Association (BSA), inaugurated its new startup hub at the Basavan Kudachi campus auditorium. The Hon’ble Minister of Planning and Statistics, D. Sudhakar, officiated the event, marking a key step forward in fostering educational and entrepreneurial innovation in the region.
Minister Sudhakar, in his address, acknowledged the evolving education landscape and commended government initiatives driving these transformations. He stressed the importance of partnerships between academia and industry in equipping students with practical skills, enabling them to meet real-world challenges while contributing to societal growth. The minister also lauded the Bharatesh Education Trust for its significant impact on education.
The startup hub will host 10 incubation setups, offering hands-on industrial training to BIT students. This initiative aims to blend theoretical knowledge with practical experience, ensuring students are well-prepared for professional challenges.
During the event, the chief guest honored BIT student Smaran Mangalorkar for his exceptional achievements in national swimming competitions, where he earned multiple medals, reflecting the institute’s commitment to holistic development.
Key dignitaries participated in the occasion, including Shripala Khemalapure, Vice-Chairperson of Bharatesh Education Trust (BET), who delivered the presidential address. Other attendees included BIT Chairman Shashank Lengade, MC-BET Secretary Vinod Doddanavar, Principal Dr. Veena Karchi, and Shridhar Maldi, Head of the Department of Chemistry.
This inauguration not only ushers in a new era for BIT but also reinforces Belagavi’s emergence as a thriving hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in Karnataka.
