On Wednesday, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah affirmed that he has kept his commitment to Laxman Savadi by assigning the substantial lift irrigation project, valued at Rs 1,500 crores, in Athani taluk of Belgaum. At the commencement of the Ammajeshwari Lift Irrigation Project in Kottalgi, Athani taluk, the Chief Minister censured both the present central government and the preceding BJP state government for their lack of support towards irrigation projects in Karnataka.
Siddaramaiah emphasized the insufficient cooperation from the central government concerning essential irrigation projects such as Upper Krishna, Mahadayi, Upper Bhadra, and Mekedatu.
He called on the public to vote based on their conscience, highlighting the assistance offered by his government in tackling familial challenges. “Do you prefer us, supporting your livelihood and implementing programs addressing family issues, or the BJP, deceiving you by manipulating your emotions in the name of God? Listen to your inner self. Cast your vote for the candidate your heart guides you to,” Siddaramaiah appealed.
The Chief Minister condemned the BJP for its opposition to these measures and accused them of disrespecting millions of beneficiaries nationwide. “We have enhanced the purchasing power of the poor and middle class in the country. However, the BJP is against this. The BJP is demeaning the four and a half crore beneficiaries in the state. Do not forgive those who insult you,” he remarked.
Siddaramaiah also expressed confidence in the future endeavors of Lakshmana Savadi.
