In an unfortunate incident in Belgaum, seven individuals, including a 9-month-old baby, sustained injuries following the explosion of an LPG cylinder at Akkatangerhal village in Gokak taluk on Sunday morning. Three individuals, in critical condition, have been admitted to KLE Hospital in Belgaum for treatment.
According to police sources, the occupants of the house detected a gas odor and decided to inspect the LPG cylinder. As one of them activated their mobile torch, the cylinder exploded, resulting in the roof of the house being blown off, and items inside the residence were scattered.
Those injured in the incident include Rajashri Nirwani (42), Ashok Nirwani (45), Somanagouda (44), Deepa (42), Navin (14), Vidya (13), and 9-month-old Basanagouda. While individuals with severe injuries are receiving treatment at KLE Hospital in Belgaum, the others have been attended to at a local hospital. The Gokak police are currently conducting an investigation into the matter.
