SBI Funds Management Ltd. has announced financial support for the Mahesh Foundation, a Belagavi-based NGO, to construct new school classrooms. This contribution comes through the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program. The Mahesh Foundation operates a charity school for underprivileged families and a care center and school for children affected by HIV.
Vinaya Datar, Chief Compliance Officer and Company Secretary at SBI Funds Management Ltd., inaugurated the second floor of the foundation’s new school and skill center building in Kanabargi on Thursday.
The initiative is set to benefit 120 disadvantaged children by improving their educational opportunities, according to a press release.
Mahesh Jadhav, the founder of the foundation, noted that the organization has been aiding underprivileged children for 16 years and established the Utkarsha Learning Center, a specialized school, six years ago. The new facility is expected to accommodate over 500 children.
Also present at the inauguration were Govind B., Branch Manager of SBI Funds Management Ltd., as well as foundation staff, teachers, and students.
