In an unexpected turn of events, burglars looted an SBI ATM located in a bustling area, typically crowded with people and vehicles
The robbery took place during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday in Sambra village, Belagavi taluk, on the Belagavi-Bagalkot road. Armed with gas cutters, the thieves managed to open the locked chest of the ATM and stole all the cash inside. The exact amount stolen has not yet been confirmed.
The fact that this heist occurred in such a heavily trafficked area has raised eyebrows. Police Commissioner Iada Martin Marbaniang visited the site to assess the situation. Bank officials explained how the chest was cut open to gain access. Marihal police are currently investigating the case.
