Minister Satish Jarkiholi stated that our government is actively addressing communal tensions and will enforce strict measures against anyone instigating such unrest.
In a conversation with journalists on Friday, he revealed that a quarrel initially sparked among children playing cricket in Alwani Galli, Belgaum city, escalated into a clash between two groups, leading to stone-throwing. They mentioned that two distinct incidents related to this altercation have been officially recorded at the Shahapur police station.
Minister Satish Jarkiholi emphasized that a disagreement originating from children playing cricket had escalated into a clash between two communities. He stressed that this matter should not be interpreted in terms of caste or religion. He highlighted the perilous nature of certain individuals’ efforts to stoke tensions along caste or religious lines. Amidst this crisis, he urged everyone to unite and remain vigilant, advising the public to take his words seriously.
It is imperative to inform the police department about any unlawful incidents occurring in any region, and individuals should refrain from taking matters into their own hands. There are attempts by certain individuals in the peaceful atmosphere of Belgaum to stir up communal discord, along with efforts to stoke caste-based tensions. Hence, the ministers have appealed to the public not to heed any provocative remarks that could escalate communal unrest and instead strive to maintain peace in the city of Belgaum.
