Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi announced on Monday that he intends to contest for the Chief Minister’s post in 2028.
Speaking to journalists in Raichur, Satish said the decision on the next KPCC president rests with the Congress high command. Addressing speculation about a recent dinner at his residence, which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah attended, he remarked, “Hosting dinners is common. Over the past 20 months, I have hosted 10 such gatherings. There’s no need to assign ulterior motives to them.”
On former CM B S Yediyurappa’s criticism regarding the impact of guarantee schemes on state finances, Satish countered, “Yediyurappa has repeatedly claimed that development has stalled due to our guarantee schemes and suggested rolling them back. However, the Congress is in power and knows how to manage and allocate resources for all its programs.”
He also accused Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy of making daily allegations against the government without providing evidence to support his claims.
