Satish Jarakiholi, the Minister in charge of the Belagavi district, chaired a meeting to assess the advancement of multiple projects, which encompassed land acquisition, railway development, and the national highway. During the session, he emphasized the need for design modifications to be made for the Belagavi Ring road.
The apprehensions voiced by residents residing in Kadoli, Honaga, Bennali, and Agasaga, small villages near Belagavi, have brought attention to the construction of the Belagavi Ring Road. The acquisition of fertile land spanning hundreds of acres for the project has raised concerns about potential disruptions to the villagers’ way of life. In response, the minister emphasized the importance of incorporating their opinions and making essential design modifications to address their needs.
Minister Satish Jarakiholi stressed the significance of exploring alternative routes within the vicinity, even if it means an increase of 2-3 kilometers in length, during discussions with officials from the National Highways Department and land acquisition authorities. His emphasis was on expediting the pending land acquisition process to facilitate the progress of the Halaga-Macche highway project.
