Belgaum city is gearing up for a significant transformation in its traffic management system with the upcoming construction of a new flyover. The ambitious project, spanning from Highway Junction Sankam Hotel, Ashoka Circle to Peeranwadi, has received approval from Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
The initial phase of the endeavor will concentrate on erecting the flyover to connect to CBT, with subsequent extensions planned up to Peeranwadi, incorporating Roundabouts and entry and exit lanes on both sides.
During a recent meeting in Bengaluru to assess the progress of national highway projects, Minister of Public Works Satish Jarkiholi engaged with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. In this meeting, he presented a list of developmental initiatives, including the construction of two flyovers and the District Collector’s Office complex in Belgaum city. The Union Minister has granted approval for these projects and assured financial support.
The much-anticipated flyover project, a longstanding aspiration of Belgaum residents, is now being undertaken by the central government. There is a strong likelihood that the construction will commence at the onset of the new year.
