Chandrashekar Murtagi, a Second Division Assistant (SDA) working in the Raibag Tahsildar’s office, was arrested by Lokayukta police on charges of accepting a bribe of ₹80,000.
According to Lokayukta officials, the accused had allegedly demanded ₹1 lakh from farmer Shivanand Dundagi for land record–related work. A trap was laid, and Murtagi was caught red-handed while receiving ₹80,000 of the demanded amount.
Following the arrest, the police inspected records at the office and seized several revenue-related files, including those linked to mutation and land registry corrections.
