A 25-year-old lineman with HESCOM lost his life after coming into contact with a live wire while carrying out repair work in Mugalihal village on Tuesday.
The deceased, Maruti Avali, had climbed an electric pole to perform urgent maintenance when the fatal incident occurred.
His body remained hanging from the pole for over an hour before being taken down by HESCOM personnel.
Officials stated that an inquiry will be initiated to determine the cause of the mishap and identify who authorised the power supply during ongoing repair work.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
