On Thursday, the police arrested the individual who assaulted an Anganwadi helper in Basurte village with a sickle, resulting in the cutting of her nose.
A resident of Basurthe, Kalyani More, was arrested after a confrontation with the Anganwadi helper who was attacked while children were picking flowers near the house. The accused, who had been hiding in the hilly outskirts for three days, has now been apprehended. Inspector Nandishwara Kumbara stated that a case under IPC section 326 (fatal assault causing grievous hurt) has been filed against the accused.
He also mentioned that Sugandha More (50), the Anganwadi helper who was attacked, is currently receiving medical treatment, and her health is improving.
