Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the much-awaited Vande Bharat Express between Bengaluru and Belagavi on Sunday, August 10, enhancing rail connectivity between the state capital and North Karnataka. The semi-high-speed service, operated by South Western Railway, will begin regular operations from August 11, running six days a week except Wednesdays.
The inaugural special (Train No. 06575) will depart KSR Bengaluru at 11:15 am on Sunday, reaching Belagavi at 8:00 pm, with stops at Yesvantpur, Tumakuru, Davangere, SMM Haveri, SSS Hubballi, and Dharwad. From August 11, Train No. 26751 will leave Belagavi at 5:20 am and arrive in Bengaluru at 1:50 pm, while Train No. 26752 will depart Bengaluru at 2:20 pm, reaching Belagavi at 10:40 pm.
Fares for the 611 km journey are fixed at ₹2,905 (Executive Chair Car with catering) and ₹2,535 (without catering). AC Chair Car tickets will cost ₹1,575 with catering and ₹1,264 without, inclusive of GST.
Belagavi MP and former CM Jagadish Shettar, along with Union Ministers Pralhad Joshi, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and V. Somanna, played key roles in securing the service after over a year of lobbying with the Centre. Officials say the launch is a major boost for commuters, professionals, students, and tourists, offering faster and more comfortable travel with eight modern coaches and premium amenities.
