A recent incident has surfaced involving the detection of a live cartridge in the luggage of an army officer who was departing for Hyderabad from Belgaum via a flight.
Upon thorough inspection, it was revealed that the officer had unintentionally left the cartridge in his bag during training exercises. It is crucial to highlight that the officer had traveled to Belgaum for official training purposes and was on his way to Hyderabad upon completing the training. During the routine bag screening at the Belgaum airport, security personnel uncovered live cartridges and pellets among his possessions.
Following his detention and subsequent questioning, it was established that the individual in question holds a senior position in the Indian Army. This distinguished officer, currently serving in the army, had visited Belgaum for additional training. Unfortunately, during his return journey, a live bullet was found in his bag.
Swiftly responding to the situation, airport security personnel handed over the officer to the Marihal police station. The officer, in complete cooperation with the authorities, clarified that he had inadvertently overlooked the presence of the live bullet in his bag while traveling.
