Senior Civil Judge and District Legal Services Authority Member Secretary, Sandeep Patil, has announced that a National Lok Adalat will be conducted across the Belagavi district on July 12. Addressing the media on Friday, Patil noted that around 1.3 lakh cases are currently pending before the Lok Adalat in the district. He emphasized that efforts are underway to resolve a large number of these cases through individual and collective settlements.
This will be the second Lok Adalat of the year, with expectations that several hundred cases will be settled. The National Lok Adalat will be held simultaneously across the country, and the District Legal Services Authority has arranged for its conduct in all courts within the district.
Cases related to property division, alimony, cheque bounce, electricity disputes, revenue offences, labour matters, banking, and pre-litigation issues will be considered for settlement through conciliation. Of the 1.3 lakh pending cases, nearly 12,000 have been identified for priority disposal.
