Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar has directed Revenue and departmental officials to expedite land acquisition processes for various development projects in Belagavi and neighboring districts. Chairing a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Saturday, Shettar stressed the importance of resolving issues faced by land-losing farmers and objectors to ensure swift progress.
Revenue officials reported that most of the land for the Belagavi-Kittur-Dharwad railway line has been acquired, with only a few pending cases due to farmer objections. Shettar, who reviewed updates from Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board officials in Dharwad, expressed satisfaction with the overall progress.
Key Decisions:
- Land Demarcation: Joint demarcation of lands by KIADB and Revenue officers to complete the process promptly.
- Highway Repairs: Collaboration with the National Highways Authority of India and Goa officials to address repairs and reconstruction of the Chorla Ghat highway.
- Shaganamatti-Hungund-Raichur Highway: Coordination among Public Works officers and district officials from Dharwad, Raichur, and Bagalkot to ensure timely construction.
- Bypass Road Construction: Addressing farmer and stakeholder concerns related to the Jhadshahapur-Honaga-Halaga-Machche Bypass Road.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan, NHAI officials, and other senior officers.
