Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar, alongside Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Roshan Mohammad, chaired a high-level review meeting with officials from South Western Railway, NHAI, Aviation, Tourism, and KIADB. The session focused on evaluating ongoing infrastructure projects across various sectors.
Shettar sought updates on land acquisition for the proposed Ring Road/Bypass Road under NHAI, urging officials to expedite the process for timely execution. Discussions also covered the Belagavi-Kittur-Dharwad railway line, with the MP stressing swift action on land acquisition. Additionally, he directed railway authorities to commence work on flyovers at level crossings 371, 380, 381 (Third Gate), 382 (Second Gate), 383 (First Gate), 392, and 407 following Central Government approval.
On road infrastructure, Shettar reviewed the nearly completed Belagavi-Goa road resurfacing via Chorla, emphasizing the need to finish the remaining stretch. He also called for the fast-tracking of the 11-km Halga-Macche bypass and the Anmod-Ramnagar stretch, while urging immediate measures to ease congestion on the Ramnagar-Londa section.
In aviation, he assessed land acquisition progress for Belagavi Airport’s expansion, instructing officials to accelerate necessary procedures.
Tourism projects were also discussed, particularly the Rs. 100 crore grant for developing facilities at the Savadatti Sri Renuka Yellamma Devi temple. Shettar urged officials to ensure timely execution and continuous monitoring.
