In a tragic incident in Ugar Khurd village of Kagwad taluk, a woman allegedly strangled her 3-year-old son, Satvik Rahul Katageri, after a heated argument with her husband on Saturday.
Police report that tensions had been escalating between the couple, identified as Rahul and Bhagyashree, with Bhagyashree suspecting her husband of infidelity, which frequently led to conflicts.
On the day of the incident, a particularly intense quarrel allegedly led Bhagyashree to strangle her son in a moment of rage. She reportedly attempted to take her own life afterward but did not succeed.
The Kagwad police have registered a case and detained both parents for further questioning as they investigate the incident’s full circumstances.
Newborn’s Body Found in Canal in Separate Incident
In another distressing case within the same police jurisdiction, a newborn’s body was found in a water canal near Mole village on Sunday. Police estimate the infant was born 3-4 days before the discovery.
The child development officer and Kagwad police visited the scene and have launched an investigation to identify the infant and establish the details surrounding the infant’s death.
