A 10-year-old girl was reportedly sexually harassed by a man in Nippani, Belgaum district. The incident occurred on the evening of August 18 but came to light on August 21. The accused, identified as 50-year-old Asif Bagwan, has been arrested and charged under the POCSO Act.
According to sources, the accused lured the girl by offering her money to buy chocolates and then inappropriately touched her. After the victim informed her parents, they filed a complaint against Bagwan on Wednesday. The police have taken the accused into custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
