Karnataka Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi has requested the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in Mysuru to revoke the honorary doctorate awarded to him in March.
In a letter addressed to the Vice Chancellor—now being circulated in media circles—Jarkiholi stated that receiving the honorary degree adds to his societal responsibilities, and he needs time to meet those expectations.
“Conferring this honorary doctorate has increased my social responsibility. While I have charted out several plans to strengthen the social service initiatives I’ve taken up, implementing them demands significant time and effort,” he wrote.
