The much-debated division of Belgaum district appears to be on the horizon, as indicated by Minister Satish Jarakiholi. In a recent development, he disclosed that a meeting involving Belgaum’s MLAs took place, culminating in a proposal submitted to the Chief Minister. This proposal suggests the division of Belgaum into three separate districts, primarily for administrative efficiency.

The proposal, which also includes the consideration of declaring Gokak and Chikkodi as distinct districts, is presently under review. Minister Jarakiholi elaborated that the division of Belgaum into three segments is poised to become a reality in the near future.

Satish Jarkiholi, a prominent political figure, has emerged as a central player in the discussion surrounding the imminent division of Belgaum district. Holding a key ministerial position, his recent statement regarding the anticipated tripartite division of Belgaum has garnered considerable attention. As an influential figure within the government, Jarkiholi’s insights into the administrative reconfiguration hold significance, shedding light on the direction the district’s governance is poised to take.
