Karnataka Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar and her brother, Legislative Council member Channaraj Hattiholi, were injured in a car accident early Tuesday morning, January 14, near Ambadagatti village in Kittur Taluk, Belagavi district.
The accident occurred around 6:00 AM while returning to Belagavi after attending a legislature party meeting in Bengaluru late Monday night. Their vehicle reportedly lost control while avoiding a stray dog and crashed into a tree.
Minister Hebbalkar suffered minor injuries to her back and face, while Channaraj Hattiholi sustained a head injury. Both were immediately taken to a private hospital in Belagavi for treatment. The car’s front portion was heavily damaged in the collision. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
