Migrant workers from Bihar were attacked at Banashankari Galli in Vadgaon suburb here on Thursday. Law enforcement officials have apprehended one individual implicated in the reported assault on the workers.
Four laborers from Bihar were employed at Dashrath Dhamnekar’s powerloom unit. Local residents objected to outsiders working in Karnataka, alleging that it resulted in them losing job opportunities, which led to the reported assault on the laborers from Bihar.
One suspect has been arrested by the Shahapur police, who have also initiated a search for other individuals involved in the incident. A case has been registered by the Shahapur police in connection with the incident.
