A lorry transporting animal feed caught fire on a national highway in Belagavi on Sunday morning.
The incident occurred when a tyre of the vehicle, which was travelling from Sangli in Maharashtra to Mysuru, caught fire. No injuries were reported in the incident. Fire personnel reached the spot promptly and brought the flames under control.
Authorities said the ownership and value of the animal feed being transported are yet to be ascertained. Officials from Hirebagewadi Police visited the site and carried out an inspection.
