Lokayukta officials launched a major crackdown on corruption in Gokak, conducting simultaneous raids on the homes and offices of city officials. Five teams, led by Lokayukta DySP B.S. Patil, carried out inspections, targeting allegations of misconduct.
The raids focused on Gokak Grade 2 Tahsildar Srikanth Betageri and Revenue Inspector Shivanand Hiremath. Their residences and offices were thoroughly searched, with officials examining key documents.
The action comes in response to public complaints about corruption, particularly in the illegal handling of the Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana and pension approvals. Raids were conducted at multiple locations, including the Tahsildar’s office.
Authorities have carried out similar investigations in the past following corruption allegations. With the latest operation, Lokayukta officials continue to crack down on malpractices, ensuring accountability in public offices.
