A group of Lokayukta personnel carried out surprise inspections at the homes and workplaces of a city corporation executive across different urban and rural areas within the Belagavi and Dharwad districts on Thursday.
Led by Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Satish Chitagubbi, a squad consisting of Deputy Superintendents of Police Shankar Ragi and Vijay Biradar, along with Inspector Kariyappa Banne and additional team members, conducted searches at the residences and official premises of Santosh Anishettar, the Assistant Commissioner of Belagavi City Corporation. These operations were carried out in both the Belagavi and Dharwad regions.
During the operations, the group confiscated a selection of property records, currency, valuable jewelry, historical artifacts, and footwear. According to official statements, the team came across high-end international liquor bottles and imported shoes within his dwellings situated in both Dharwad and Belagavi.
The inspection took place at multiple locations, including his residence at Michigan Compound, a property at Bendre Nagar in Dharwad, as well as Venkatapur and Aladakatti villages in Haveri taluk. Additionally, a room in Belagavi was also subject to the search.
Furthermore, a separate search was carried out at the residence of a police constable situated in Sattur, Dharwad. This action was prompted by the discovery of documents linked to him within Mr. Anishettar’s premises.
