K.S. Deshpande, President of Bagalkot Zilla Brahman Mahasabha and senior advocate, passed away in a road accident in Khanapur on Wednesday, with two passengers sustaining injuries. The SUV flipped over when the driver lost control of it on the Dandeli-Khanapur Road.
According to the police, Sagar Deshpande, the advocate’s son, was driving the vehicle. Sagar Deshpande and his mother, Radhika Deshpande, sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in Belagavi. The family was returning from a trip to Dandeli, and there were eight passengers in the car. Mr. Deshpande, aged 72, served as standing counsel for organizations such as the Basaveshwara Vidyavardhak Sangha. Sangha chairman Veeranna Charantimath, Akhila Karnataka Brahman Mahasabha president Ashok Haranahalli, and others have expressed their condolences.
