A 35-year-old man, identified as Parashuram Nana Goundadkar from Kallehol in Belgaum, has been taken into custody by the Khanapur police for his involvement in twelve house burglaries spanning three years. The swift action led to the confiscation of gold and silver jewelry valued at Rs 43,23,115. The information was shared by SP Belgaum Dr. Bhimashankar Guled in a press conference on Thursday, attended by Additional District Police Chief R. B. Basargi, Bailhongal Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Nayak, Khanapur Police Inspector Manjunath Nayak, and other officers.
Parashuram was captured by the Khanapur police through the use of technical data collected from the crime scenes. Law enforcement confiscated 673 grams of gold jewelry, 627 grams of silver jewelry, and Rs 16,000 in cash, amounting to a total value of Rs 43,23,115.
A surge in daytime house burglaries in the Khanapur area prompted an effective response led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Nayak. With the support of Police Inspector Manjunath Nayak, Sub-Inspector Channabasav Babli, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police N. K. Patil, Constable B. G. Parasuram, and a team including Yaligar, Jagadish Kadroli, Jairam Hammannavar, Manjunath Musli, Praveen Hondad, Pundalik Madar, and others, Parashuram was successfully apprehended. The operation received valuable assistance from the Technical Department of the Police Headquarters, represented by Vinod Thakkannavar and Sachin Patil, along with support from the district police chief’s office.
